Trek further south from your home away from home to arrive at the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary-777 sq km of rugged wilderness breathing with rare flora and fauna. Watch elephants roam free along with diverse species of primates, birds and tropical woodland animals.
Wildernest is situated on the short road from Thekkady Junction, Kumily to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Kochi at 200km or Madurai in Tamil Nadu at 140km are the nearest airports. Kottayam, 114km away, is the nearest railhead from Periyar. Kumily, the nearest town from Periyar is well connected by both state and private buses from Kottayam, Ernakulam and Madurai in Tamil Nadu.
