Meenmutty Waterfalls

Meenmutty Waterfalls is the tallest waterfall in Wayanad and second largest waterfall in Kerala. It is a three tier cascading waterfall from a height of 300metres.  The main attraction of this place is long day trekking in deciduous forest.

Sentinal Rock Water Falls

Sentinel Rock, which is locally known as Soochipara is at Vellarimala Village in Wayanad district. It is a three tried waterfall cascading down to 200 feet is a breathtaking sight. In the pool below one can enjoy swimming and bathing. The main highlight of this place is top tree hut to explore the beauty of the valley of Western Ghat   and the surrounding waterfalls.

You will be picked up from Cochin Airport and start drive towards Thattekad  Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, which is an evergreen low land forest situated on the banks of river Periyar . The sanctuary is a habitat for 280  species of birds which includes forest birds and  water birds. Some of the birds found here are Crimson-throated Barbet, Bee-eater, Fairy blue bird, Grey-headed fishing eagle, Blackwinged kite, Grey heron, Common Grey Hornbill and Malabar Hornbill, Grey Drongo, Malabar Trogon. Wayanad records Good visitors Inflow

Wayanad seems to have belied all the dire predictions on foreign tourist inflow into Kerala following the Mumbai terror attacks and the global financial melt down. According to the district police register, about 30 to 40 foreigners reached the district every day during the second week of January and that the inflow had increased from 4,590 to 8,414, ie., by 83.3 percent. Vellarimala

An adventurous Journey through pristine beauty with cool springs, dense green jungle, and finally reach Vellarimala – abode of clouds.  Vellarimala is a part of Western ghat mountain ranges ,and it is also known as Camel’s Hump Mountains. It is situated 6333ft above sea level. Most of the hill range comes under the Meppady Forest Range of South Wayanad Division with some parts falling Thamarassery Range of Kozhikode Division. One can see Kozhikode plains on one side and greenery of Wayanad on the other side while looking from the Vellarimala hilltop. Vavulmala with a height of 7678 ft is the tallest peak in this range.
