Sentinel Rock, which is locally known as Soochipara is at Vellarimala Village in Wayanad district. It is a three tried waterfall cascading down to 200 feet is a breathtaking sight. In the pool below one can enjoy swimming and bathing. The main highlight of this place is top tree hut to explore the beauty of the valley of Western Ghat and the surrounding waterfalls.
An adventurous Journey through pristine beauty with cool springs, dense green jungle, and finally reach Vellarimala – abode of clouds. Vellarimala is a part of Western ghat mountain ranges ,and it is also known as Camel’s Hump Mountains. It is situated 6333ft above sea level. Most of the hill range comes under the Meppady Forest Range of South Wayanad Division with some parts falling Thamarassery Range of Kozhikode Division. One can see Kozhikode plains on one side and greenery of Wayanad on the other side while looking from the Vellarimala hilltop. Vavulmala with a height of 7678 ft is the tallest peak in this range.
