V K Parameswarn – Artist with a Soul

An artistic spark engulfed him at the age of 13 and then on brush became his tool and creation a passion. He is artist V K Parameswarn, who was born in a small village at Elanji in Ernakulam district in Kerala. He is otherwise called Parameswaran Elanji and has several works to his credit which made their mark in markets.

Attukal Pongala

Attukal Pongala is a ritual celebrated in Attukal Bhagavathy temple every year. The Pongala Mahotsavam is the most important festival of the Temple.  It is 10 days long festival comes to an end with special sacrificial offering namely  Kuruthitharpanam at night.  On the nineth day of festival, a large no of women from all religions,  from within India and abroad gather in and around the temple premises to offer the Pongala which is cooked by themselves.
