Zamorin’s Museum
It’s a newly established museum under the management of Zamorins Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode. Efforts are on to collect artifacts for this museum from royal families and other institutions. An area of 1000sqft has been dedicated for this museum. The focus is on the Zamorin Dynasty who had ruled Kozhikode for several centuries, till the invasion of the British. A good collection of photographs of various rulers, temples, rituals and ceremonies are exhibited here. Swords, shields, arrows, old coins, oil lamps and some other artifacts are displayed here. The museum is located adjacent to the Higher Secondary School in Tali Shiva Temple in Kozhikode. The ancient temple of Lord Shiva and the adjacent temple pond are worth seeing. (more…)
