Neyyar Dam and wildlife Sanctuary
Neyyar dam is situated in the Agasthyamalai hills in the Neyyattinkara Taluk of Thiruvananthapuram district. It was established in 1958. There is the Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary surrounding the dam which has all kinds of wild animals like Tigers, Wild boars, Elephants, Wild buffaloes, Porcupines and different types of snakes. There is lake at the bottom of the Western Ghats which is very popular with visitors. The KTDC has tours to the Neyyar dam and one can even hire boats and take a ride to explore the banks of the sanctuary. (more…)
