Nalukettu is the traditional houses or heritage homes of  Kerala and these types of buildings are typically found in Kerala only. Nalukettu is the traditional style of architecture of Kerala, was the hallmark of the grand mansions of  yore in Kerala.  In early times, such huge structures were essential to cater the needs of the huge tharavad (upper class homestead), since most of them were accommodated a large number of families under the marumakkathayam ( matrilineal  system ).  (more…)

P.N. Ayurvedasramam, is situated in the heart of Kodungallur in Thrissur. It is a sister concern of Sree Narayana Dharma Sabha (a charitable trust established in 1962).

P.N. Ayurvedasramam provides traditional Ayurveda treatments for the rejuvenation of mind and body. Ancient traditional systems and values of Ayurveda are maintained without any dilution. Medicines used for treatments are prepared in the Asramam itself as prescribed by Rishies.

P.N.Ayurvedasramam specializes in Panchakarma Treatment are offered only after the detailed consultation with the doctor. Various treatments offered here are Thalapothichil, Tharpanam, Kadee Vasthy, Greeva Vasthy, Avagaham and Upanaham, Nasya Pizhichil, etc. Yoga classes are conducted under the guidance of expert Yoga teachers.

Traditional Kerala food with emphasis on Ayurvedic diet is serve here. Though strictly vegetarian, fish and meat are served occasionally. Accommodation includes Nalukettu and Ettukettu built in the traditional Kerala style, using natural stones, bamboo, coconut  leaves palm leaves, earth and sand. There are five air conditioned cottages having all modern amenities.

Dewalokam Resort, Idukki

Located on the bank of the Kannadipuzha River in the lower ranges of the Nilgiri mountains, Idukki district, Kerala, Dewalokam, an exceptionally beautiful farm stay resort is a pleasing blend of modern comforts and the homely ambience provided by your hosts, the Alilakuzhy family.

Guest accommodation is in three houses with fifteen double bedded rooms. The resort is self-sufficient in meat, fish, milk, eggs and vegetables. The Ayurveda herbal garden has a lot of rare and precious plants. Cuisine served includes Continental, Chinese, Mughalai, North Indian and South Indian dishes.

The Ayurveda treatment at Dewalokam is under the supervision of the Dhanwanthari Vaidyasala (an ISO 9001-2000 company), Thodupuzha. A team of doctors examine the guest and after discussions, finalize the mode and length of time for the treatment. (more…)
