GKSF road show flagged off from Delhi

According to the schedule, campaign vehicle will cover eight Indian Cities in two weeks.

According to the initiative of popularizing Grand Kerala Shopping Festival (GKSF) in the domestic market, Kerala Tourism flagged off their national campaign from Delhi that would cover eight major cities in the country in the coming two weeks to conclude at Kannur in Kerala on December 15, where the official inaugural of the 48-day mega shopping fiesta is scheduled. It was flagged off by Vayalar Ravi, Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India, and A P Anil Kumar, Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes & Backward Classes and Tourism, Government of Kerala, along with the prominent presence of Union Ministers and Members of Parliament from Kerala. Kerala Tourism Policy 2012 Focuses on Infrastructure and Community Development

Kerala Tourism has made concerted efforts and formulated tourism policy which aims to market in overseas and domestic markets through Mega Tourism Projects, a judicious mix of cultural, heritage, spiritual, and eco tourism in order to give tourists a holistic experience. Developing the infrastructure required for tourism is a key focus area of Kerala tourism policy 2012. Kerala Tourism organizes Utsavam 2011-12 – a cultural fest of folk dances

Kerala Tourism is gearing up to organise the second edition of ‘Utsavam,’ the cultural  festival   centered on tourist spots in the State with the support of Kerala Folklore Akademi. Utsavam 2011-12 will be held which started from December 18th 2011 will conclude on February 26 th 2012. Utsavam festival focuses on providing a cultural fest of folk dances which are less popular and which are in the verge of extinction. Responsible Tourism classification system approved by Kerala government

Kerala government has given its approval for a Responsible Tourism classification system introduced by Kerala Tourism based on the principles of Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria of UN. The new classification system will be implemented in co- ordination with the private and public sector and will help significantly to raise the overall development of the state.
