Puthenmalika Palace
Puthenmalika Palace, popularly known as Kuthiramalika (meaning ‘Mansion of Horses’) is located a few yards away from the eastern entrance of Sree Padamanabha Temple in Thriuvanathapuram. Built in 1846 by Swathi Tirunal, erstwhile ruler of Travancore who was a great poet, composer, musician and statesman, Kuthiramalika is a fine example of the traditional architecture of Kerala .The palace gets its name from the intricate and beautiful carving of 122 horses in the wooden wall bracket that support its southern roof.
