Padua House is the first European Bungalow in Fort Kochi and it now welcomes visitors from all over to enjoy a brush with the past in Kochi, the Queen of Arabian Sea is a town shaped by the Portuguese, the Dutch and later by the British. This Century old heritage bungalow can accommodate up to 80 people for a sit down lunch/dinner. The large front lawn too can be used for outdoor banquets. Mingle with your hosts, enjoy friendly banter over a family meal and get a feel of traditional values and family culture. Requests are often made for cooking demos and Pudua House family members are only too happy to oblige.

“We serve typical Kerala food and also cater to Continental taste buds. The cooking is actually personally supervised by eighty-one year old mother, Mrs. Job, helped by her daughter-in-law,” says Mr.V.J.Johny, one of your hosts at Padua House.

This ‘Refreshment  Inn’, as Paduva House is lovingly referred to, is the perfect stopover during a busy day of sightseeing in the historic quarter of  Kochi.

“Our emphasis is on the group dinner and the family concept.  A big group which arrived in Kochi on the Queen Elizabeth came over to Padua House for snacks and refreshments. They found it a rally unique experience,  Mr.Johny told .

Paduva House arranges cultural entertainment programmes for their guests.” We once conducted a Bollywood-theme party on the lawns for a group of French tourist who thoroughly enjoyed it and later staged a programme of their own for us”.
