Dewalokam Resort, Idukki

Located on the bank of the Kannadipuzha River in the lower ranges of the Nilgiri mountains, Idukki district, Kerala, Dewalokam, an exceptionally beautiful farm stay resort is a pleasing blend of modern comforts and the homely ambience provided by your hosts, the Alilakuzhy family.

Guest accommodation is in three houses with fifteen double bedded rooms. Eight bedrooms on the first floor of the central block provide scenic views of the Nilgiri Mountains beyond the river and the forest.  The ground floor has a lounge with a restaurant and a kitchen in addition to the four rooms for Ayurveda treatment.

Three bedrooms/apartments are also available in the near by ‘Nalukettu’ with wooden walls and a atrium or an open space within each room. Each apartment has its own modern bath, shower and toilets.

The resort is self-sufficient in meat, fish, milk, eggs and vegetables. The Ayurveda herbal garden has a lot of rare and precious plants. Cuisine served includes Continental, Chinese, Mughalai, North Indian and South Indian dishes.

The Ayurveda treatment at Dewalokam is under the supervision of the Dhanwanthari Vaidyasala (an ISO 9001-2000 company), Thodupuzha. A team of doctors examine the guest and after discussions, finalize the mode and length of time for the treatment. (more…)
