Quilon / Kollam Backwater
Quilon is 71 km from Thiruvanathapuram. Being one of the oldest ports in Kerala, Kollam is the beginning of the magnificent network of waterways. The renowned Ashtamudi Lake is known as the gateway of backwaters. Quilon (Kollam) has a 130 km long system of interlinked canals and lakes which winds all the way to the north. The eight-hour long trip from Kollam to Alappuzha on the beautiful backwaters is the longest and the most excited one.
