Onam Pookkalam and Payasam competition at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Kadavanthra
Onam is my most favorite festival. It is the most attractive and colorful festival of Kerala, India. Talk about Onam in Kerala and one of the first images that come to mind is that of the flower bed or floral arrangements known as Pookkalam or Athapookalam and sweet Payasam served on Banana lea. . In order to celebrate this great and amazing festival of Onam,Vanitha and Sunlight are organizing Pookkalam and Payasam competition which will be conducted on 7th of September at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Kadavanthra. Along with this competition, many cultural competitions will be held at the same venue
Nowadays many pookkalams concentrate more on the design part and in the process the ten rings are avoided. The pookkalams mainly concentrate on the various cultural aspects of Kerala and on the Onam myth.
Prizes for the Pookkalam Competition are scheduled as follows :
First Prize : Rs.25000
Second Prize : Rs 15000
Third Prize : Rs.10000
Consolation Prize : Rs.5000 for 10 persons.
Payasa Competition is another interesting competition of this event. Best Payasam will be awarded Cash Awards. Prizes are as follows :
First Prize : Rs.5000
Second Prize : Rs 3000
Third Prize : Rs.2000
Consolation Prize : Rs.1000 for 3 persons
Rs.500 for 5 persons each.
