Hornbill Camp is a venture of Lemon Grass hotels that offers the ultimate Eco-Adventure holiday at Thattekkad near Kochi. Blending perfectly with the surrounding forests, the camp affords a spectacular view of both the River Periyar and the thickets. Known as the Birder’s Paradise, the camp and the adjoining Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, is home to over 270 species of birds, including all the endemic species. The Hornbill Camp is the ideal place to sight the maximum number of birds within a small geographic area.
Stay in well appointed Cottage Tents set in the forest. Each accommodation has a private bathroom and an exclusive sit out, though power supply is restricted for essentials. Enjoy ethnic Kerala dishes prepared with home-grown spices.
Adventures activities on offer include kayaking expeditions, while water rafting, plantation walks, village visit, etc.
October to March is the ideal time to visit Hornbill Camp which is located 60 km north of Ernakulam and 40 km from Kochi International Airport.
