Kerala Travel – Eco tips for Wildlife and Jungle visit

Kerala Travel leave you with happy memories, it also leaves you with a better understanding of its culture, its people and its natural surroundings.  So why not do what you can to ensure that other visitors are given the same privilege.   Here are some of the things as an informed Kerala traveler, you can do to preserve Kerala’s environment for both the locals and the future visitors.

Eco tips – while visiting wildlife and jungle

  • Discover or reconnect with the nature.
  • During summers, eco destinations may shut down. So get prior information
  • Maintain silence and environmental discipline while visiting wildlife
  • Small gangs not more than 9 is preferable for jungle walking and trekking. Do not stay away from group
  • Do not disturb animal life by chasing animals,making noise  or by flash photography or video
  • Do not wear colourful clothes or put perfumes. Use dull coloured clothes
  • Early mornings and late afternoons are the ideal time to visit forests
  • Wear jungle boots for trekking. Do not put new shoe while on trek. It will pinch
  • Carry drinking water,snacks etc.
  • Take Forest guard while going into the forests
  • Don’t litter with cans, bottles, plastic bags, etc.
  • Aware about rules and abide them.
  • Don’t carry cigarette & match box.
  • Don’t carry transistor & tape recorder.
  • Do not hit Honey Bee Colonies  with stones or disturb.
  • Don’t smoke or lit fire, it can cause forest fire.
  • Don’t remove any forest property.
  • Be careful during boat rides. Don’t do anything that will jerk the boat or endanger lives
