Kerala Tourism ties up with Zapak to launch an interactive online game

Kerala Tourism ties up with Zapak to launch an interactive online game to sell the State’s tourism destinations to gamers from around the world. The game will have a hand-drawn map of Kerala with a trail and markings for the important tourist attractions in Kerala. You can stop at important tourist destinations, click snaps (for which you get reward points) and keep those photos for yourself.

The gamer can use various modes of transport to travel through the state – a rented car, tourist bus, rented bike or traditional boat.

Then there is God’s Own Treasure also to make the travel exciting. They are hidden in a temple or church, a historic monument, beach or a national park: the perfect way to introduce people to the real treasure troves of the State.

According to Ms Rani George, director, Kerala Tourism, the game adds a exciting ingredient by giving a Google Maps location link and information on how to get to a destination.

T K Manoj Kumar IAS, secretary to Kerala Tourism said, this gaming initiative is the first of its kind in the country by giving the next gen information on new areas in an interesting way. It helps youth to learn about the culture about an area also.

Forget those monstrous games of murders and destruction your children may have got exposed to. Instead, take them on a journey across God’s Own Country, making them feel the beauty of the land.

With currently over 7.5 million registered gamers, Zapak (www.zapak.com) is among the top gaming sites in the world.
