Cruise through Kerala in a houseboat!

The success story of the Rainbow Cruises, jointly scripted by the admired heroes of celluloid and the specialists in backwaters, began in the year 2000.The Grenshore Holidays & Resorts (P) Ltd, the promoter of the Rainbow Cruises, is chaired by the veteran cine director Mr. Fazil and its Vice Chairman is none other than Mr. Jayaram, the star hero of South Indian Silver screen. Its Managing Director is Mr. C.A. Jose Mathew and Mr. Jojy Mathew is the Director Marketing. Mr. Cijo Alex and Dr. Tijo Alex are the other two Directors.

Mr. Jojy Mathew said that the recession had brought down the inbound groups but domestic tourists especially from Delhi was picking up.‘Security, safety, and privacy are the prime factors that Rainbow gives utmost priority and we treat our tourists as guests. Zero accident is our goal and we are planning to launch new houseboats in accordance with the new Inland Vessel Act.  100 per cent professionalism is the need of the hour in the industry and a uniform pricing pattern is also needed. The attitude of the general public towards tourists also must be improved in a positive way to create a new tourism culture’ he said.

As part of reinforcing the security and safety measures it has introduced an innovative insurance scheme. Rainbow Cruises now owns a fleet of over 20 well built premium and luxurious house boats comprising premium air-conditioned, deluxe air-conditioned and non air-conditioned Kerala houseboats. They are in sleek design, equipped with every luxury and safety measures promising customized comfort with a touch of Kerala heritage flair. The houseboats are manned by a team of uniformed crew members, a captain, an engine driver and a cook. All the crew members are trained to converse in English and Hindi and to interact and be with the guest giving commendable respect and behavior. They are also trained to handle emergencies. Special back office team under the strict monitoring of the general manager looks into the freshness, quality and the cleanliness of the utensils, provisions supply of the perishable/ non-perishable items to the boat as well as the house keeping. Special care is taken in choosing the linen, cutlery, crockery, furnishings and other gadgets in the boat

The modern spacious kitchens in the boats, equipped with a sink, stove and granite top counter, are protected from hazards by fireproofing and fire extinguishers. Another main appeal is the most hygienic eco-friendly toilets in the boats. Solid wastes and sewage are not directly discharged into the water, instead there are bio-chemical alternatives with own sewage treatment plant.

Rainbow cruises is the first cruise provider to get Gold Star classification from the Government and fetched many awards in recognition to its superior products and specialized services.
