Japan Tsunami updates – Japan to tackle water, food shortage, bad weather and nuclear crisis
Japan Tsunami images describe the destruction caused by the perishing tsunami waves and powerful earthquakes followed by aftershocks. Volcanic eruption occurred in Shinmoedake volcano on Japan’s Kyushu island forcing thousands of people to flee.
While containing crisis triggered by Tsunami, Quake jolted Japan nuclear plants have been shut and nuclear crisis is deepening in Japan. Japan emperor Akhihito reviewed the situation , addressed the citizens through TV and conveyed his consoling message. Tsunami hit Japanese are living in the fear of possible meltdown of Japan’s nuclear reactor in Fukushima and nuclear radiation contamination of food and water resources. 2 lakh people living within 30 km radius to Fukushima nuclear plant were evacuated. Cooling system of these nuclear reactors failed. A state of emergency declared at five nuclear reactors at Japan. Exposure to radioactive materials has the potential to cause various kinds of cancers and abnormalities to unborn babies., A team of 100 workers are trying to cool the reactors at plant.. Radiation level is increasing to dangerous level in the country. Support from all over the world including US military is offered to Japan.
‘Bad weather hampering Japan Tsunami and earthquake rescue effort’. Japan is facing growing shortage of food, water and and fuel. Supermarkets are running shortage of essential food like rice and milk.Rolling power blackouts are started in Japan to compensate the power shortfall and it added to the misery of Japan .
People are fleeing from Tokyo and many business houses closed . Japan infrastructure, including roads, bridges, ports, trains, airports, utilities and communication networks, has also been badly damaged . Followed by 6.0 magnitude aftershock yesterday, many major buildings swayed side to side.
Indian Companies like Infosys and L& T recalled its employees from Japan. As per Japan Government official report, 3680 people are confirmed dead and 8000 are still missing. Japan tsunami and quake impacted global supply chain. Japan factories supplying everything from high-tech components to steel, forcing firms including Toyota Corp and Sony Corp to suspend production.
