Iringal art & craft village venue for Sargaalaya Mela 2011, for the promotion of traditional art and craft

Sargaalaya, the art & craft village at Iringal near Vadakara, Kozhikode is designed by the Kerala Tourism Department as an initiative to put Kerala’s traditional arts & crafts on the tourism trail. Sargaalaya is set upon 20 acres of land on the banks of the Moorad River. Sargalaya Mela 2011, first and largest of its kind in Kerala,  will be held during August 25th,2011 to September 11th, 2011 at Iringal art & craft Village.

The Expo will have around 90 stalls showcasing art and crafts from different parts of Kerala, amusement and entertainment such as performance of different art forms , folk music and martial arts etc. The event is scheduled during the holy month of Ramzan and this is the time of the year when Kerala has the maximum number of NRIs coming back home, hence maximum footfalls for the event.
Iringal Art and Craft Village

Iringal is famous for its association with Kunjali Marikkar an he resisted advent of the Portuguese won him an immortal space in the Kerala history.
