CIAL to showcase aviation evolution
The proposed museum of Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL)nearing completion will have four exhibition halls showcasing the growth and evolution of the global aviation industry and relevant materials supported by photographs and narrations in English. Each of the rooms will contain a central model of different structure related to the airport industry or the models of fighter planes and choppers.
The history of airport and Indian aviation will be displayed in the first hall, while the next stall will showcase pictures and descriptions about the evolution of airports with special reference to the growth of Indian aviation since 1912.
The evolution of passenger aircraft, fighter planes, helicopters, aircraft engines and their components would also be included in the project. Further the replicas of the highest airports in the world, difficult airports for landing, airports with maximum features and those in strategic location will also be exhibited in the museum.
The 3 crore estimated project will also have an exclusive CIAL section showcasing its origin, financing schemes, its models of land acquisition and compensation dispensation, rehabilitation, milestone and future programmes and a replica.
The museum will also contain a simulator room for providing visitors the experience of aircraft movement, a souvenir shop and a library-cum- training hall with books from the field of aviation.
