Kerala Tourism has made concerted efforts and formulated tourism policy which aims to market in overseas and domestic markets through Mega Tourism Projects, a judicious mix of cultural, heritage, spiritual, and eco tourism in order to give tourists a holistic experience. Developing the infrastructure required for tourism is a key focus area of Kerala tourism policy 2012. Matsyafed has taken a new step towards aqua tourism promotion in the state and it is called Milky way. Kerala Matsyafed made an aqua farm, located at Malippuram, Vypeen, and developed a major fish-producing centre for the region and turn the fishing village into a famous aqua-tourism spot. This aqua farm is about 12 kilometres from the High Court junction and across the Goshree Bridges. It would be a nature lover’s paradise with its abundance of mangroves, fauna and flora, Serene waters, the lagoon and narrow canals, has much to offer to the discerning guest. This farm opened its doors to public and tourists hardly a year ago and produces 25-30 kg fish everyday. (more…)
