Alappuzha beach is 3½ km from the city. A pier, which is 137 years old extending over the sea and the old lighthouse, are the major attractions of this beach.

(1 km from Bekal Fort in Kasaragod) This enchanting beach also known as Pallikere Beach, offers a spectacular view of the historic fort and has ample facilities for recreation and relaxation.

Beypore is 10 km south of Kozhikode. Beypore is located at the mouth of the Chaliyar River. Beypore was one of the prominent ports and a maritime trading centre of ancient Kerala.It is known for its boat building yard, famous for the construction of the Uru (Arabian trading vessel), a tradition that goes back almost 1500 years.

Cherai is a lovely beach bordering the Vypeen island, around 23 km from Ernakulam is an ideal beach for swimming. Dolphins are occasionally seen here. Another added attraction of Cherai is the nearby typical Kerala village with paddy fields and coconut groves.

Eight Kilometers from Kovalam, Chowara is a paradise of unending stretch of white, sandy beaches. This fishing hamlet offers pristine and serene atmosphere.

(17 km from Kannur) The small five-acre Dharmadam island covered with coconut palms and green bushes is a beautiful sight from the Beach. Permission is required to enter this privately owned island.

Ezhimala is 50 km from Kannur. Ezhimala beautiful beach here has a hillock nearby which is 286 m high. Ezhimala Naval Academy is also here.

Overlooking the Arabian Sea, with the legendary Chinese fishing nets dotting the foreground, Fort Kochi beach is a wonderful place to view the spectacular sunsets. Another attraction is the numerous waterfront stalls that serve fresh catch, which is cooked according to taste.

(3 km from Manjeswaram in Kasaragod) The main attraction here is a large swimming pool-like formation of the sea on the vast beach.

Kappad is 16 km from Kozhikode. Kappad beach is very famous and historically significant because of the fact that the world famous explorer Vasco da Gama set foot first on India with a team of 170 men in three vessels. Vasco da Gama landed on the Kappad beach on 27th of May 1498. The rock-studded beach is locally known as Kappakadavu.

Kizhunna is 11 km from Kannur. It is one of the most secluded beaches in Kerala with a beautiful stretch of sandy coastline.

Padinjarekara beach is in Chamaravattom, 5 km from, Ponnani in Malappuram is famous for its bird watching. Also offers a spectacular view of the confluence of the Bharatha Puzha, the Tirur Puzha and the Arabian Sea.

A dip into this sea water is believed to wash away sins and is considered holy. The red laterite cliffs fringing the Papanasam beach, serene backwaters, 2000-year-old Janardana Swami temple, a century old tunnel and a Nature Cure Centre are the other major attractions here in Papanasam.

Payyambalam 2 km from Kannur. The massive landscaped sculpture of Mother and Child and the well-laid out gardens make this beach extremely captivating. This beach is also famous for its flat laterite cliffs that jut out into the sea. The adjacent Baby Beach can be accessed through the Burnassery Cantonment, offers delightful ambience.

Payyoli is 40 km north of Kozhikode. Payyoli beach of shallow waters is ideal for swimming. During the months of November-December, hordes of the endangered Olive Ridley turtle come in to lay eggs

12 kms south of Kovalam is another isolated but spectacularly beautiful beach, Poovar. Situated close to the Neyyar River estuary, Poovar was a trading port in its early days. Today it is recognised as an important.

Shanghumugham is just 8 km from the city of Thiruvananthapuram. Shanghumugham beach is adjacent to the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. This Beach has an indoor recreation club, the matsya kanyaka (a gigantic, 35 m long sculpture of a mermaid), a restaurant shaped like a starfish and a traffic training park for children. The nearby popular picnic spots is Akkulam.

Tanur is 35 kms from Malappuram. This small coastal fishing town of Tanur was once the earliest settlements of the Portuguese. It is said that St. Francis Xavier visited this place around 1546. 3 km south of Tanur town is the Keraladeshapuram Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, which believed to be one of the oldest temples in Kerala.

Thangasseri is located 5 kms from Kollam, this seaside village of historic importance has the ruins of an old Portuguese fort and churches built during the 18th century. It’s a unique beach where you can see the setting of sun and the rising of moon simultaneously.

Thikkodi is 35 km from Kozhikode. Thikkodi lighthouse was built after a shipwreck, the remains of which can still be seen here. The beach overlooking the Velliyamkallu Rock was much dreaded by mariners, off Mtoodadi coast. The region around the Velliyamkallu Rock is home to migratory birds.

Vadakara is 50 km from Kozhikode. Vadakara beach where Kottakal River merges into the sea is a stunningly beautiful beach. The well-known Birla Bungalow offers a delightful view of the Sandbanks Beach. It is a favourite spot for locals and tourists.

Vallikunnu Beach is 40 kms from Malappuram. The main attraction is the beach resort set in the middle of a coconut grove. The Kadalundi bird sanctuary is also nearby.
