Camp Noel, Munnar – Experience Beyond Compare
Transpire Holidays team visited Camp Noel. A first-hand account of their exhilarating experience:
We believe that Munnar is still not fully explored. The adventure is unlimited and the more you explore, the temptation to stay back and enjoy becomes greater. Our visit to Camp Noel a hillstation resort in Kerala was a memorable one. We were offered transportation to the resort from Top Station. Munnar was rather cold in January. The early morning drive to Top Station was great. The road is well maintained except for a small distance near Top Station. We were told that this area of the road belonged to TamilNadu.
It takes about 9o minutes on an average to reach the resort from Munnar town. The first 30 km is very scenic drive on the Kodaikanal highway via Mattuppetti and Kundale Dam. The last 6km to the resort is very bumpy and rough through a forest track – there are no roads to speak of!
As we parked our vehicle at Top Station, Mr Pandyan, the driver of Camp Noel met and escorted us into a waiting Mahindra Bolero. We had no clue about the drive or the condition of the roads to Camp Noel. After a short trip on the main road, we turned left and took the road through the tea estates. Mr Pandyan, We realized that he was enjoying his duty and proud of his abilities as a driver.
After traveling through the tough terrain and crossing a couple of small settlement, we suddenly found ourselves in a new world. The view was lovely. Just like good thing in life, Camp Noel is hard to get to. But once you get here, if you enjoy nature at its pristine best, you will love it! We believe that it is precisely because Camp Noel is hard to get to, that it is so pristinely preserved.
We were received by a pleasant young man, Mr Santhosh, Resort Manager and later by Mr.Sasindran, the General Manager who looked great in his cowboy attire which suited the ambiance. We were served a Kerala Breakfast. The drive had made us hungry. The food was really tasty and the service was excellent. We did not have much to time to while away, and Mr Santhosh was only too eager to escort us around the property. He was very enthusiastic about describing the property.
Club House at Camp Noel has an excellent club lounge and a balcony overlooking the spectacular panorama of mountains and valleys. Club house rooms accommodates two adults, and are well appointed double bedrooms with luxurious attached bathrooms. Watch a million fire flies illuminating the valley on starry night. Watch or (discover) a new star or see one up close and personal through the amateur telescope.
Each cottages has two bedrooms and can accommodate four adults or two children. They offer view of the majestic mountains, lush valleys and spectacular vistas. All the cottages are over 1000 sq ft in area and feature a separate living area with beautiful stone fireplace, gourmet kitchen, dining area, two bath-attached bedrooms and all other amenities.
Camp Noel, is an ideal location for honeymooners, corporate team building activities, adventure tourists or just any ordinary traveler who would like experience an out-of- the –world feeling. The mobile connectivity is feeble and you would not have any kind of contact with the outside world once you are in Camp Noel. In fact you would not even feel like contact with the outside world once you are there!
Camp Noel is also introducing elevated cottages with a ‘wild ambiance’. These cottages would be ready soon and the tourists will have more reasons to be at Camp Noel.
We really enjoyed the time we spent at Camp Noel. The general manager and this team at Camp Noel can be rated among the best in the hospitality industry. As we drove back from Camp Noel we had no doubts on why this property is rated as one of the best in Munnar by Trip Advisor
